PERU OBTAINS THREE AWARDS IN THE 2022 EDITION OF THE SO-CALLED “OSCAR OF WORLD TOURISM”

On November 11, 2022, Peru has been awarded three important recognitions in the global edition of  the WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS (WTA) 2022, a contest that is considered the “OSCAR OF WORLD TOURISM”.

The awards obtained by our country are: “Leading culinary destination in the world”, “Leading cultural destination in the world” and “Leading tourist attraction in the world: Machupicchu”.

“The awards obtained reaffirm Peru’s tourism positioning in the world. We are a destination with incredible attractions, extensive cultural and natural riches, as well as an award-winning gastronomy that make us proud.

As is known, the World Travel Awards have been held since 1993 to distinguish and celebrate excellence in all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. It is a global brand contest, recognized as the best hallmark of excellence in the field.

With the obtaining of these three awards it is reaffirmed that our country continues to consolidate itself as a reference destination for tourists. This is the fourth time that Peru is recognized as a leading cultural destination in the world and the fifth time that our world wonder, Machupicchu, is imposed in the category of tourist attraction.

It is also important to note that this is the tenth time that Peru obtains the award as a leading culinary destination in the global edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA), which brings us closer to the goal of positioning Peruvian gastronomy as the best in the world.
